Detroit has claimed Corey Ballentine off waivers. The Jets waived him off injured reserve on Wednesday. Ballentine was a Giants sixth-round pick in 2019 and appeared in 13 games for the club as a rookie. He played 27 percent of defensive snaps and 30 percent of special teams snaps, including averaging 25.6 yards on 10 kick returns. After the Giants waived him last year, the Jets claimed him. The Giants officially announced that offensive lineman Shane Lemieux (knee) has been placed on injured reserve. He will miss a minimum of three weeks but potentially more. Lemieux suffered what some have reported to be a partially torn patellar tendon. Okudah suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon in the Detroit Lions` season-opening 41-33 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, NFL Network reported. Okudah limped off the field with help from trainers, and after briefly having the back of his ankle examined on the sideline, hobbled 50 or so yards to a medical cart waiting in the tunnel, which transported him to the locker room. Padres left-hander Blake Snell went on the 10-day injured list Wednesday due to a left adductor groin strain, the team announced. Snell, 28, injured his groin in the first inning of Sunday`s 8-0 loss to the Los Angeles Dodgers. After retiring his first two batters, Snell was facing Trea Turner when he suddenly left the mound with a 2-1 count. He was removed from the game and limped slightly as he walked off the field.
