Steelers Key Injuries: James Conner, RB, Ankle (Q), Zach Banner, T, ACL (IR), David DeCastro, G, Knee (Q), Stefen Wisniewski, G, Pectoral (Q)

NOTES: The Broncos come into Week 2 after a defensive battle with the Tennessee Titans that ended with a game-winning Stephen Gostkowski field goal. The Broncos failed to capitalize on the one-yard line when a shuffle pass to Jake Butt was stuffed and rookie receiver Jerry Jeudy dropped two passes that could have extended drives. Denver was preparing for a successful season that has taken a quick turn due to injuries to stars Von Miller and A.J. Bouye. They still have a puncher’s chance in this game with Pittsburgh that should be another low-scoring affair. It will be up to quarterback Drew Lock to break down this tough defense; for Denver’s sake let’s hope he’s up for the challenge.

The Steelers defense dominated the New York Giants in Week 1, holding star running back Saquon Barkley to six total rushing yards. It will be a tough day for Melvin Gordon and company to get the running game going against this stout Steelers front. Once the Steelers establish their intimidating defense, their offense begins to settle in and find ways to score through skill players such as Juju Smith-Schuster and Diontae Johnson. Expect one of those two guys to have a huge game as the Broncos are undermanned on defense, and that should provide Pittsburgh with a slight edge in this pitcher’s duel type of battle.
