Chiefs Key Injuries: Le’Veon Bell, RB, Knee (Q), Tyreek Hill, WR, Hamstring (Q), Clyde Edwards-Helaire, RB, Ankle (Q), Sammy Watkins, WR, Calf (Q)

NOTES: The Chargers had a few bright spots in a dismal season, especially at QB with their Rookie of the Year favorite Justin Herbert, who broke the single season TD record for a rookie QB. Their offense has been great this entire season, and is looking to cap it off with a good final performance against their division foes. In fact, if the Chargers pull out a victory it will cap off a 3-0 run against their division, which could go a long way in saving Head Coach Anthony Lynn’s job. Their defense will have to come up big as well, but that requires health, which is in question. If the Chargers star defenders are healthy on Sunday against a backup Chiefs lineup then they will cap off the 3-0 divisional run and possibly save their head coach’s job.

The Chiefs have locked up home field throughout the AFC playoff race so they will be sitting their starters in week 17 against their division foes. However, we shouldn’t count them out as the Chiefs backups beat the Chargers a few seasons ago to hold the Chargers out of the playoffs. This is the game where Patrick Mahomes showed us a preview of what was to come, and maybe some backups will do the same this time. This is their chance to step up and show Head Coach Andy Reid that they deserve a starting job in the playoffs or next season. Maybe they don’t pull out a victory, but using this contest to earn your Head Coach’s trust is a victory in itself.
